Ray Daub, VP, International Operations
Ray Daub is VP of International Operations of Humana Europe and is directing the UK team to provide effective commissioning services to the NHS in England.
Ray has led the Medicare and Commercial Premium Billing Organisation in the US with approximately $14 billion in premium revenue. He created and sustained a 5-Year Operating Plan while monitoring a budget of approximately $725 million in operating expenses and $90 million in capital investment. He also maintained control over all computer and telecommunication assets (net book value of approximately $170 million) and was responsible for the negotiation and administration of approximately 1,000 Information Technology contracts (annual average of 500 contracts/projects with a value of $74 million).
Ray holds a Bachelor of Science degree in accounting from the University of Louisville.
Dr. Ramu Kannan, Managing Director
Ramu’s primary responsibilities include helping define the vision and strategy for Humana Europe and leading the organisation in providing effective commissioning support to the NHS.
Since joining Humana Europe in 2007, Ramu has led the development of SIV (Settlement & Invoice Validation) – Humana’s patented acute invoice validation and care pathway monitoring solution, which is currently being used by numerous Primary Care Trusts.
Before joining the Humana Europe team, Ramu was the Director in charge of the Enterprise Architecture group at Humana Inc for more than five years. In this capacity, Ramu led teams that designed and implemented multiple enterprise class solutions that served the IT needs of various key stakeholders including members/patients, physicians and providers. Many of these solutions resulted in multi-million dollar savings for Humana. Prior to joining Humana, Ramu was the CTO at two software companies that built healthcare related software systems. These solutions were implemented at multiple Fortune 500 companies including Raytheon, Allied Signal (Honeywell), Time Inc, Wachovia, Medtronics, Boston Scientific, Humana and MIT. Ramu has over 20 years experience in designing and implementing IT solutions.
Ramu is a graduate of Syracuse University, and holds a PhD in Information Systems.
Dr. Helen Glenister, Operations Director
Previously Humana’s Wellness Director, Helen is now responsible for overseeing our client operations including SIV, Wellness, Practice-based Commissioning and Mental Health. Educated to PhD, MBA and BSc levels, Helen started her career as a registered nurse working in hospital and community settings before taking forward leadership roles within a number of local, regional and national organisations within the NHS and Department of Health. These have included commissioning, healthy alliance initiatives and operational roles in delivering healthcare. Prior to joining Humana she was Deputy Chief Executive of the National Patient Safety Agency where she led teams working on patient safety improvement and solutions to reduce harm which included the award winning “clean your hands” campaign.
Helen has led international work for WHO, held three Executive Board level positions and is a visiting Professor at the European Institute of Health and Medical Sciences at Surrey University.
Rosemary Protheroe, HR Director
Rosemary Protheroe is Humana Europe’s Human Resources Director. She has a human resources, organisational development, employee relations and marketing background working for both public and private sector organisations including Unisys, South Pacific, Industrial Research, Contact Energy, and NACAB. She has held a number of HR Director positions In the UK, Australia and New Zealand. Most recently, Rosemary worked as an independent HR consultant supporting businesses in the UK.
Leyan Phillips,
Marketing & Communications Director
Leyan is a marketing and communications specialist with more than 15 years' branding, advertising, marketing, research and CRM experience in the UK and Asian markets. He has previously worked in senior management roles for global brands such as Vodafone and Harrods, and spent five years in Tokyo on the agency side operating in the financial services, IT and automotive sectors. Pursuing his passion for food, he co-founded the first conveyor-belt sushi bar chain in the UK in 1994. Leyan holds a Masters Degree in Oriental Studies (Japanese) from Cambridge University.
Leyan was recently inducted into the CorpComms 100 Club, an organisation which recognises the top performing corporate communicators in the UK.
Since joining Humana in September 2006, he has led the design, development and implementation of Humana’s communications and engagement services.
Teri Looney, Director of Business Development
Teri Looney is Humana Europe’s Director of Business Development. Teri is an excellent communicator and specialises in partnering with senior leaders to understand their business needs and developing innovative healthcare solutions to solve problems and improve health outcomes.
Teri has most recently overseen delivery of Humana’s services within Gloucestershire PCT. She led the team improving performance management structures, contracts, contract management, data and information management systems. Teri has worked to adapt best of breed solutions from the US and combines approaches with those of the leading NHS PCTs resulting in improved performance.
Before joining the Humana Europe team, Teri worked for Humana Inc with oversight for the large group customer accounts and also market management across Humana’s Commercial markets. Teri is a graduate of Truman State University and holds a Masters in Organisational Leadership from College of St. Catherine, St. Paul.
