Humana is a commissioning support company authorised by the Department of Health to offer Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) a complete end-to-end service. But we also offer dedicated levels of support for separate areas within the commissioning process. These range from the provision of analytical tools, support and partnership programmes to management of all or part of the commissioning process.

We understand that each PCT is unique, and can be as different as the people they serve. So we tailor our services to complement existing skills, resources and requirements and evolve in line with your changing organisation.

The Human Face of Healthcare

Humana's delivery cycle applies a new approach to PCT commissioning that is systematic, focused on health improvement and improved patient experience and delivered at scale to whole populations, yet tailored to individual need. Individual need is at the heart of Humana's work because it is only by identifying how a person interacts with and moves through the healthcare system that we can gain a real understanding of their needs.

This new understanding supports a step change in commissioning and a new approach to public health in which PCTs and commissioning GPs can combine commissioning for populations with active clinical interventions targeted at individuals, families and communities. This can reduce inappropriate practice variations, create opportunities for healthy choices, actively promote health and wellness and inform and empower people to co-create their own health.
